Qatari Prime Minister/ Remarks

Doha, February 06 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani expressed his shock over Russian-Chinese veto against the UN Security Council draft resolution on the Syrian crisis, wondering about the interest that could be realized by adopting this veto. HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said in remarks to Al-Jazeera Channel TV this evening: " We have cooperated a lot at the UN Security Council in order to reach a formula that is fair and satisfactory, and also to address some of their fears." HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim urged the Arabs to take clear action about what is happening in Syria, noting in this respect to four options being deliberated in this regard. But HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister did not disclose the four options, saying "these options I can not speak about them before being discussed . HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani stressed the need to continue resorting to the international community, referring to the fact that there an Arab weakness, "or there is sort of Arab surprise and at the same time there is no clear action about what is happening to the Syrian people ". HE the Premier and Foreign Minister stressed that matter is not need of more statements but needs clear action to stop the bloodbath in Syria. On the reasons behind the delaying of the two meetings on the Syrian crisis until next Sunday, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said "there is reasons for the delay, but to when .. This is a fact, and this a justified question .. to when this silence.", HE the Premier and Foreign Minister asked. HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor said: "We have now completed eleven months, with the hope that this issue is resolved peacefully, but it was not resolved, and there was no fruitful cooperation with the Arab League", HE the Premier and Foreign Minster noted, recalling in regard his remarks in which he stressed that there was equivocation in dealing with the matter, and waste of more time. HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani stressed the importance of the time factor regarding the Syrian crisis, pointing out that there are intensive ongoing international and Arab contacts and that are several ideas, in this regard HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said: "today I made several contacts, and I received several calls, and we are continuing to prepare for the meeting with results .. But I can not say they be good results , but at least reasonable.", he noted. On calls to boycott China and Russia because of their position at the UN Security Council, and whether there is any move towards this position, HE the Premier and Foreign Minister said, "I mean, I speak on behalf of my country .. in fact this issue is not now proposed as an action HE the Premier and Foreign Minister once again expressed his surprise at the use of the veto by the two countries, especially since efforts have been made over four days, in an attempt to reach a solution with them, hoping that the two countries would reconsider their stance in light of the scenes broadcast by the TV channels. HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani said at the beginning of his remarks that the situation in Syria is greater than be described as a tragic or criminal.(END)
