Qatar's Ministry of Interior Arrests African National Who Smuggled Workers

Doha, December 27 (QNA) - The Research and Follow-Up department of the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Passports succeeded in capturing an African national who used to smuggle and house workers from his nationality in the Al Salata area. The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that the Research and Follow-Up department got intel on smuggling operations related to house workers. Immediately, the department formed a specialized team in coordination with the designated security bodies. After obtaining the required warrants, it managed to arrest the suspect in the act. He was housing 15 home workers at a house rented in Al Salata area for that purpose. The statement said that the suspect confessed during questioning, giving all the details on the workers and how he housed them and allowed them to work through special home services offers. As a result, he was referred to the designated authorities to follow up on the matter. The designated authorities at the Ministry of Interior called on the importance of avoiding any dealings with that segment of workers, in order to avoid any legal liabilities. (QNA)
