Qatar's MOPH Reports 644 New COVID-19 Cases, 1,548 Recoveries, 194,099 Total Recoveries

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) reported today 644 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19). 461 of these were from community cases and 183 from travelers returning from abroad. The MOPH recorded 1,548 recoveries from the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 194,099. The ministry announced eight new deaths aged 39, 48, 52, 55, 58, 72, 77 and 79 years old, seven of which were chronically ill, and had received the necessary medical care. The MOPH issued a statement on COVID-19 developments in Qatar, which said the following: New Cases and Recoveries: - 644 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were announced today. 461 of these are from community cases and 183 from travelers returning from abroad. - 1,548 people have recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 194,099. - In addition, the ministry announced eight new deaths aged 39, 48, 52, 55, 58, 72, 77 and 79 years old, seven of which were chronically ill, and had received the necessary medical care. National COVID-19 Vaccination Program Data: - 1,635,398 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the program. - 31,485 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours. - 45.4 percent of the eligible population has now received at least one dose of the vaccine. - 86.3 percent of over 60s (the most vulnerable population group) have been vaccinated with at least one dose, while 76.5 percent have received both doses.
