Qatar's Shooting Team Wins Bronze in Arab Women Tournament

Sharjah, February 10 (QNA) - Qatar s women shooting team made impressive performance at the inaugural Arab Women Sports Tournament to win bronze medal in air rifle team s 10 m event on Thursday. Qatar s shooting squad represented by Bahia Al-Hamad , Mahbouba Akhalaqi and Hisa Al-Banali confidently won the third place behind hosts, United Arab Emirates who managed second and Kuwaiti team claimed the gold medal. Mrs. Al-Anoud Mattar, Director of women shooting team lauded the mechanism of competitions, tables preparation and pre-event technical meetings, as well as she was impressed by the shooters performance at the event, Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) reported today. The prestigious tournament is organised under the patronage of HH Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qassimi, the wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, the Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the Chairperson of the Sharjah Ladies Club. The event brings together women sport teams from 22 Arab nations who are competing in several sports including basketball, volleyball, table tennis, shooting and several athletics disciplines. (QNA)
