QNA Partakes in 21st GCC News Agencies Officials Meeting

Doha, June 29 (QNA) - Qatar News Agency (QNA) participated on Wednesday via videoconferencing in the 21st GCC News Agencies Officials Meeting. President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran, who headed the meeting, stressed the great responsibility that Gulf media agencies carry, especially the news agencies, to express the changes taking place in the GCC countries in line with the strategic plans and visions of the GCC various countries. President of SPA called on the Gulf news agencies to unify the Gulf media discourse regarding the various issues and developments the world is witnessing. He stressed the need for the Gulf media to highlight the major events witnessed by the GCC countries, such as the FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the State of Qatar at the end of 2022. The meeting discussed the proposal of the General Secretariat of the GCC to prepare a five-year plan for the years from 2023 to 2027, to determine the paths and priorities for cooperation during the coming period, including cooperation initiatives between the GCC states, and to present it to the next meeting of the information ministers of the GCC states for approval. The meeting also discussed many proposals aimed at exchanging experiences, reviewing the latest developments in the Gulf agencies, and intensifying cooperation between them, in addition to several issues that would strengthen relations between the Gulf agencies.
