Quality public healthcare highlighted

Manama, Nov. 29 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh has praised the huge support and care on the part of the Kingdom's leadership regarding the healthcare sector. Al Saleh praised the ceaseless efforts being exerted to surmount the challenges and to ensure the optimal, efficient and effective use of available resources to provide healthcare up to highest international standards. Speaking to a large gathering of journalists and representatives of public media as she opened ministry's first "Open Meeting with the Press" in the presence of the undersecretary, assistant undersecretaries and directors at the ministry, the minister said the health sector in Bahrain considers developmental programmes at the top of priorities. "There are many initiatives aimed to develop the standard of public health services and facilities to meet the aspirations of citizens," she said. "This open meeting with the media today aims to consolidate the bridges of communication and cooperation between them and the ministry," Al Saleh added. The minister stressed the importance of regular open meetings with the press and the media to be organized in the upcoming period as a basic vehicle of dialogue vis-à-vis issues of concern to public opinion in the health field. "Open meetings with the press provide the opportunity to discuss the ministry-provided services with the media," she added. The event was organized under the motto "What the Ministry of Health wants from the media? What the media want from the Ministry of Health?
