RCM highlights medical teams’ efforts in combatting pandemic

Manama, Oct. 1 (BNA): The Rotary Club of Manama (RCM) recently highlighted the tremendous efforts exerted by medical teams fighting in the frontline against the coronavirus pandemic.
This came during the Club’s weekly meeting, held virtually in the presence of the National Health Regulatory Authority’s CEO (NHRA) Dr. Mariam Al Jalahma, RCM President Marjan Modara, and a number of RCM members and guests, and presidents and members of the fellow Rotary Clubs in Bahrain.
RCM President emphasized on the key role played by medical teams in combating the virus and safeguarding communities from diseases, expressing gratitude and appreciation to Team Bahrain, spearheaded by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the National Task Force to Combat Covid-19, for their effective role in leading the battle against the pandemic, attracting global recognition of the Kingdom’s efficient management of crises.
Dr. Al Jalahma spoke about the Authority’s role in the process of regulating the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and ensuring the compliance of all healthcare institutions to the highest international standards in the field.
The CEO also shed light on the existing high level of coordination between all related public and private institutions, as well as volunteers, in the battle against the spread of the virus, reflecting a clear image of the solidarity of the Bahraini society in times of adversity.
The attendees interactively participated in the discussion and shared their views, inquiries and insights with Dr Al Jalahma following her presentation. They also thanked her and appreciated the leading role of NHRA in assuring the quality of healthcare services in the Kingdom, making it an ideal destination for medical tourism in the region.
It is worth noting that RCM regularly hosts experts and decision makers from several fields, such as business, finance, health, industry, humanitarian work and more, with the aim of throwing light on several important topics that benefit the society.
Founded in 1965, the Club consists of 58 members who have been actively participating and organizing key community projects for the past five decades, with the aim of contributing towards societal needs. The Club forms part of Rotary International which is the world’s first service club organization and includes over 1.2 million members.
