Regional conference to discuss future of education

Manama, Mar. 14 (BNA): Corrective measures, best practices and innovative solutions to reduce the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on education will figure high on a regional conference that opens on Monday in Bahrain.
The "Future of Education", in its first edition, will be held virtually over two days under the patronage of Dr. Shaikha Mai bint Sulaiman Al Otaibi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development.
Education experts will share their views and recommendations during the high-profile conference that will bring together more than 500 participants from the Arab world.
Dr. Mai said the conference is held at a crucial time when society desperately needs it as all countries, due to the health changes sweeping the world, have resorted to new educational policies that have drawn a new future for education.
She commended the experts and speakers who have devoted their time to serving their communities and are now gathering to focus on online learning and on its efficiency and quality amid technological advancements.
"I hope this conference and its subsequent editions will be an excellent step towards an effective establishment of online learning," she said.
Ibrahim Rashid, Chairman of the Khalidiya Youth Society, a co-organizer of the conference alongside Quality Solutions Consulting Company, said they are contributing to making a significant turning point in the educational situation.
The conference is focusing on online learning solutions to address the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic that has caused the largest disruption in the educational sector in its history, he said.
The conference will discuss eight themes in its eight sessions and will address ways and measures to limit the repercussions.
