Registration for Advance Voting Starts

BANGKOK, Jan 28 (TNA) – Registration for advance voting has started today and will run until February 19, says the Election Commission (EC). EC chairman, Ittiporn Boonpracong invites eligible voters, residing in other locations outside their constituencies or overseas to register for early voting. The registration can be submitted online and more details can be obtained on the website www.khonthai.com. Those, who want to cast absentee ballots in advance in their constituencies, can apply by themselves or by post. Meanwhile, EC official in Bangkok, Wichuda Mekhanuwong said she would hold talks with Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration on Tuesday on the locations for the setting up of electoral campaign placards in Bangkok’s streets. The fixed locations in each Bangkok’s district are to be announced by the end of this month before the candidates for the election will receive their numbers on the application date during Feb 4-8, she said.
