Religion freedom discussed between EU and NHRI

Manama, Mar. 31 (BNA): National human rights institution (NHRI)’s Chairperson, Maria Khoury, received Ján Figel, Special Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU. She praised the deep relations between Bahrain and the EU and appreciated the envoy’s efforts to strengthen relations between the two sides. The chairperson affirmed that people in Bahrain can exercise their religion freely without distinction as to race, language, religion or gender. Figel hailed the role played by NHRI to highlight the level of civilisational achievements and human rights gains achieved in Bahrain.
