Religious platform should foster unity, fraternity'

Manama, Oct. 4 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has urged to maintain the religious pulpit's status as an all-inclusive platform that fosters more unity and fraternity on which the Islamic Sharia'a is based.
HRHH Premier stressed that the Islamic Religion is unconnected with fanaticism, extremism or violence, and the religion of mercy, love and tolerance, affirming that the role of preachers and clerics is to highlight Islam's moderation.
He stressed that doors will always remain open for everyone, including religious figures and preachers, given the key role they play in the national march, especially amid the fact that the critical situation the region is going through requires the voice of reason and wisdom to spare the nation its consequences.
The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving senior Royal Family members and a number of senior state officials at the Gudaibiya Palace today.
HRH Premier underlined the government's interest in heritage sites, given their importance in Bahrain's national history, as well as their crucial role in keeping record and informing about the civilisation of Bahrain and its long rich history. He stressed that those sites should carry names that reflect the kingdom's history at the social and heritage fields.
The audience lauded HRH the Prime Minister's constant keenness on reaching out to the citizens and support them under all circumstances.
In this regard, Al-Sharqi family extended thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for the good feeling he had expressed while offering condolences over the demise of the late Abdulaziz Jalal Al-Sharqi, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless the Prime Minister with abundant good health and happiness so as to continue the progress march in the kingdom.
