Representatives Coucil to hold virtual session next Tuesday

Manama, Apr. 9 (BNA): The next session of the Council of Representatives, set be held on Tuesday, will be virtual, in accordance with the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the kingdom to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to ensure the safety of everyone. The remote session, the first of its kind in the history of parliamentary work in the kingdom, will be held in coordination between the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council. The move is in line with the directives of the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, to activate the e-parliament strategy, following the success of the distant meetings held by parliamentary committees, the Council’s Bureau and the parliamentary delegation. The Representatives Council’s Secretariat-General has completed all preparations to hold the virtual session next Tuesday, in cooperation with MPs and the relevant sides.
