Representatives Council elects two key committees

Manama, Oct. 18 (BNA): The Council of Representatives today held the second regular meeting of the third session of the Fourth Legislative Term, under the chairmanship of Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla. The Representatives Council formed a Committee in Charge of Replying to the Royal Address. The panel comprises MPs Jamal Bu Hassan, Dr. Jameela Al-Sammak, Khalid Al-Shaer, Khalifa Al-Ghanim, Abbas Al-Madhi, Ghazi Al-Rahma, Mohsen Al-Bakri, Mohammed Milad and Nabil Al-Balooshi. The council also re-elected the members of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Delegation. It includes MPs Ali Al-Aradi, Hamad Al-Dossary, Abbas Al-Madi and Ibrahim Al-Hammadi. MPs also agreed on the need to issue a statement to urge the International Community to take prompt procedures to protect the lives of children, women and the elderly in the Iraqi city of Mosul and allocate safe areas and corridors for them. The statement will also call for the rejection of collective punishment on civilians. The request was submitted by MPs Nabil Al-Balooshi, Abdulhalim Murad, Abdulla bin Huwail, Anas Bu Hindi, Khalifa Al-Ghanim, Dheyab Al-Nuaimi and Mohsen Al-Bakri, and the statement will be drafted by the Bureau of the Council of Representatives. The Council of Representatives them reviewed the draft laws and agreements referred to it by the Cabinet, and referred them to the relevant committees.
