Road Map implementation
Astana, June 02, 2009 (Khabar) - At a government video conference, regional authorities have been asked to implement the Road Map programme as rapidly as possible. In a week’s time, territorial heads are to introduce reports on their actions and projects. A total of 140 billion tenge has already been allocated with territorial administrations receiving over 14 billion tenge designated for road construction, 324 million for the creation of new jobs and another 334 million for staff retraining. However, according to the Minister for Labour and Social Security of the country, Gulshara Abdykalikova, not all regions are now ready to start the implementation of the project despite having all the necessary funds on their bank accounts.
Karim Massimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan:
- We need to check what resources we need. Last week I traveled a lot around all the regions and found out that some things had not been calculated properly. We need to make sure the money is not wasted. We need to find out which are those projects which require this money more than others.
