Roads closed to traffic for winter festival at Royal Plaza
BANGKOK, Feb 7 (TNA) – Festivalgoers are asked to check the route information before going to the winter fair at the Royal Plaza as parts of surrounding roads will be closed to traffic.
Police spokesman, Pol Col Kritsana Patanacharoen said the winter festival “Un Ai Rak Khlai Khwam Nao” (Love and Warmth at Winter’s End) event will be held from Feb 8-March 11 at the Royal Plaza on the grounds of Dusit Palace.
He said parts of Sri Ayutthya Road and Ratchadamnoen Nok Road will be closed to traffic from 6 pm to 10 pm.
One lane of U-Thong Nai Road and Sri Ayutthaya Road on the side of Suan Amporn and Sanam Suapa will be closed.
Ratchadamnoen Nok road will be converted into one way traffic from 9 am to 10 pm.
The public are invited to wear traditional Thai costumes and take part in charitable activities with proceeds going to assist the under-privileged in the regions.
The event will feature exhibitions about the biography and life work of King Rama V the Great, chronicles of Thailand’s development from the King Rama V period to the King Rama IX period, reflecting the long –standing bond between the royal institution and Thai people.
Other highlights are cultural performance, demonstrations of fine arts from the royal court, ancient Thai food stalls and products and games. (TNA)
