Robot reporter starts covering minor league baseball games

SEOUL, July 17 (Yonhap) -- A robot reporter began writing stories on minor league baseball games on Tuesday, the league office announced. The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said the "KBOT" will produce game recaps in the second-tier Futures League for the remainder of the season. The KBO and a local artificial intelligence data content developer, Lab 2I, will oversee the operations of the new robot journalist. According to the KBO, the KBOT can complete a game story within three seconds of receiving stats and other game-related information. The KBO will edit the draft before publishing it on its website and social media pages. "The KBOT is able to put out articles on every game situation covered on the score sheet," the KBO said in a statement.
