Robust food security infrastructure stressed

Manama, Sept. 6 (BNA): Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf held a meeting with the engineers of the Agriculture and Marine Resources. He affirmed the ministry’s interest in the food security as an implementation to the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the opening of the second session of Fifth Legislative Term of the Shura and Representatives councils in October 2019 to develop a strategic project for national food production. He said that the ministry’s efforts are focused on developing national assets in food industries and providing investment opportunities to establish a robust infrastructure for food security in the Kingdom. The minister praised the efforts made by the personnel working in the agricultural sector and present the future steps that will be taken to promote the sector and achieve food security.
