Royal address roadmap for national work

Manama, Oct. 17 (BNA)-- Information Minister and Bahrain Institute for Political Development Chairman Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi lauded the address of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the opening of the National Assembly's third session of the fourth legislative term.
He said the royal address embodied the leadership's resolve to press ahead with political work, modernisation and comprehensive sustainable development within the framework of the state of justice, law and constitutional institutions.
The minister stressed that the royal speech had set priorities for national work at the local and international level and defined features of the modern civil state based on the approach of tolerance and sovereignty of the law.
He commended the pioneering royal reform project which got underway with the approval of the National Action Charter with an overwhelming majority of 98.4% in a public plebiscite, the inauguration of the constitutional monarchy and laying the foundations of fair and responsible democratic work through the separation of the executive, legislative and judicial branches and cooperation between them according to the constitution and for the supreme interest of the nation and citizens.
The minister praised performance of the bicameral parliament in its legislative and monitoring duties. He also commended the keenness to promote justice through a transparent and independent judiciary as well as the respect of human rights and dignity.
He lauded the government's efforts spearheaded by His Royal Highness the Premier and supported by HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to carry out development projects so as to diversify sources of revenues and boost citizens' welfare in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The minister stressed that HM the King has promoted values of tolerance and moderation as the cornerstone of his reform approach in building the state of citizenship and in his foreign policy which immunized Bahrain against challenges and foreign interference and earned it an elevated status on the regional and world map.
He also paid tribute to HM the King for his success in turning Bahrain into a model of national unity, peaceful co-existence and renunciation of religious, sectarian and racial division and hatred.
The minister praised the efforts of the security agencies in enforcing the law, maintaining national security and stability and preserving development and reform achievements. He also lauded Bahrain's effective participation in the regional and international counter-terrorism efforts and in achieving a just and comprehensive peace, mainly in the Middle East, by supporting the Palestinian cause and taking part in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition's operations to defend legitimacy in Yemen out of keenness on security of the Arab countries, their territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
The minister asserted that the royal address is a beacon for the national media to work more on fostering national unity and backing efforts to maintain security, stability and rule of the law. He also described the royal address as a roadmap to highlight national accomplishments in various fields and build on them for a more prosperous future.
The minister stressed Bahrain's Arab and Islamic identity and resolve to stand firmly against challenges and threats to its security and stability. He urged to work on translating the royal directives into a reality to further boost political awareness and the culture of democracy among all social components.
