Russia’s Stroytransgaz in $264 mln deal to irrigate Syria - report

MOSCOW, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russian construction company Stroytransgaz has signed a U.S. $264 million deal with a Syrian state company for the first stage of a $2 billion project to irrigate farmland in the country’s north-east, Syrian news agency SANA said in a report Tuesday. Stroytransgaz declined to comment. The first stage of the project will comprise the construction of a pumping station near the country’s border with Turkey and Iraq. Learn more on itar-tass.com
