Russia, Saudi foreign ministers discuss cooperation in evacuation of Russians from Yemen

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Russian and Saudi Foreign Ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Saud al-Faysal have discussed cooperation in evacuation of Russian citizens from Yemen, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday after a telephone conversation between the two ministers initiated by the Saudi side. "The ministers discussed the most acute issues of the regional agenda with a focus on the situation in Yemen," the ministry said. "The Russian minister laid a special emphasis on the task to stop fire by all parties to the conflict in that country and from outside and resume a national dialogue under the United Nations brokerage." "Sergai Lavrov and Saud al-Faysal also discussed a number of topical issues of the bilateral agenda, including the Russian-Saudi cooperation in evacuating citizens of Russia and countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States /CIS/ from Yemen," the ministry underscored. "In this context, the Russian minister spoke about certain problems at the first stage of the evacuation operation and stressed importance of continued coordination of actions with the Saudi side in case there is a need for further ecavuation."
