Saba producing animations based on bestseller “Good Stories”

TEHRAN,Dec.24(MNA) -- The Saba Art and Cultural Institute is producing a 3-D animation series based on “Good Stories for Good Children”, a bestseller by the Iranian children’s writer Mehdi Azar Yazdi. The series, also entitled “Good Stories for Good Children”, is being directed by Majid Mohammadi, Saba announced in a press release on Sunday. Mohammad Jalaian has written the screenplay in 26 episodes, the running time of each of which is 15 minutes. Mohammadi used a character resembling Azar Yazdi who appears as a narrator in this series, production manager Alireza Rezaian said. “We used this character to commemorate the great writer,” he added. He said that the production of the series will be completed in the near future. “Good Stories” earned national fame for Azar Yazdi (1921-2009) He simplified stories from classic Persian masterpieces such as the Gulistan, Masnavi-e Manavi, Marzbannameh and Sinbadnameh to write “Good Stories for Good Children” in eight volumes. It also comprises stories from the Holy Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (S) and his Household (AS). The book won a UNESCO prize in 1966 and was selected as Iran’s book of the year in 1967. The Russian State Children’s Library in Moscow unveiled a Russian translation of “Good Stories” during a ceremony in November.
