Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council's Economic Committee holds first meeting

Manama, Apr. 13 (BNA): Finance and National Economy Minister, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, has stressed that the steadily-rowing strong deep-rooted fraternal Bahraini-Saudi relations are based on solid foundations of partnership and joint coordination at all levels, affirming that they are a role model to be emulated, and a source of pride. This came as Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa, and the Saudi Finance Minister and Acting Economy and Planning Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Jadaan, co-chaired the first meeting of the Economy, Energy, Trade and Industry Coordination Committee of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council. The panel is one of the five committees emanating from the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa highlighted the fruitful outcomes and distinguished cooperation and complementarity between the two brotherly countries as a result of the unwavering interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. He indicated that the first meeting of the committee adds to the ongoing coordination efforts between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in the economic, trade and investment fields aimed at carrying on joint fruitful cooperation in order to enhance bilateral relations towards more progress and prosperity for the two kingdoms and their brotherly peoples. The Minister of Finance and National Economy affirmed that Saudi Arabia is Bahrain’s largest economic partner thanks to their well-established relations, resulting in numerous joint economic and trade initiatives and projects that have contributed to supporting their economic growth. He underlined the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral economic partnership through providing all elements that support it so as to reflect positively on their economic projects and achieve their common aspirations. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the main initiatives and recommendations on which the committee agreed, as well as their implementation mechanisms. The initiatives cover many fields and sectors, such as trade, industry and energy, in addition to enhancing technical and technological cooperation, as well as the exchange of expertise in various fields. They also called on the work teams to double their efforts in order to achieve the aspirations of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council for more economic complementarity between the two kingdoms.
