Saudi Interior Ministry Announces Signing 4 Military Contracts in Security Fields

Riyadh, March 10, 2022, SPA -- The Saudi Ministry of Interior, on the sidelines of the World Defense Show, the leading global event for defense and security, which is organized under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), announced signing four military contracts with several local and international companies with a total value of SAR 400 million. The military contracts included armored vehicles, day and night vision systems that are locally manufactured in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and automatic identification system (AIS). The Ministry of Interior worked with GAMI to study and review all military contracts that underwent precise assessment mechanism related to the technical options and accredited international standards to ensure meeting the operational use in a way that, at the same time, supports performance efficiency and operational readiness; contributes to reducing prices and achieving expenditure efficiency; support national targets seeking to expand the base of local military industries in sectors with added value; works to provide a network for services and technical support for military industries; stimulates direct investment through holding strategic partnerships with local and international companies in the sector; transfers technologies and knowledge in the industry, services, and research and development; and develops human personnel that can work in specialized industries. --SPA
