Saudi Speaker praises Bahraini-Saudi relations

Manama, Mar. 3 (BNA): Speaker of Saudi Shura Council, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, has stated that his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain is in line with the shared keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to strengthen the fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples. It is also within the desire of the two leaders to enhance coordination of the stances between the two kingdoms vis-a-vis Arab and Islamic issues at international gatherings, as well as to develop relations between the Saudi Shura Council and Bahrain’s Council of Representatives for the common interests of the two brotherly peoples, he added. In a press statement on his arrival here today on an official visit to the Council of Representatives that will run until Tuesday, the Saudi speaker praised the depth of the fraternal deep-rooted relations between the leaderships and peoples of the two countries, stressing the steady progress of bilateral ties in various fields. He hailed the blessed efforts exerted by King Salman and HM King Hamad to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, consolidate joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) unity and achieve security and stability in the region, expressing the leaderships’ satisfaction with the current level of joint cooperation in the political, parliamentary and economic fields. He asserted that exchanging parliamentary visits between the two countries reflects the mutual desire to further bolster bilateral cooperation and open up new horizons, and is in line with the resolve of the two countries’ leaderships to push joint cooperation forward and attain more achievements at the GCC, Arab and international levels. He highlighted the key role played by the Saudi Shura Council to develop his country’s relations with brotherly and friendly countries, and promote its role in serving Arab and Islamic issues, under the leadership and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince. The Saudi Speaker and his accompanying delegation arrived here earlier today on an official visit at the invitation of Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla. ON arrival, the Saudi Shura Council Speaker and his accompanying delegation were welcomed mainly by the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, First Deputy Speaker, MP Ali Al-Aradi, and the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Abdulla bin Abdul Malik Al-Sheikh. The visiting delegation is expected to meet senior state officials, and hold talks with the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Shura Council Chairman.
