SCE-CEFAS sign MoU

London, July 21 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), Dr. Mohammed Mubarak Bin Dainah, has asserted that the Bahraini-UK environment cooperation is within the agreements signed during the meeting of the Bahraini-British Joint Working Group, under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the Minister of State for the Middle East at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Alistair Burt.
He affirmed that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) reflects the depth of the long-standing relations between the two friendly countries in various fields.
Dr. Bin Dainah lauded the role played by the UK to preserve the environment at the global level.
He was speaking during the signing of an MoU between Bahrain’s SCE and the UK’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, represented by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS).
He lauded the MoU which will take effect in September and last for three years.
CEFAS’ CEO expressed delight at the signing of the MoU, describing it as a positive step towards preserving the environment, lauding the effective role played by the kingdom in the environmental field, locally, regionally and internationally.
Under the MoU, the two sides will exchange informaton, technology and visits, and cooperate in conducting research.
The SCE will also take advantage of CEFAS’ expertise and facilities.
CEFAS will train the SCE’s staff and provide the necessary consultations.
