SCE chief chairs meeting on climate change

Manama, Mar. 11 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE), Dr. Mohammed Mubarak bin Dina, has chaired the third meeting of the Joint Committee on Climate Change. Committee members, including representatives of the SCE, Oil Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry, Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry, Fiance Ministry, Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister, attended the meeting. The meeting featured a detailed presentation about the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, and the outcomes of the Marrakech 2016 UN climate change conference (COP 22). It also discussed the latest climate change developments at the local and international levels. SCE chief welcomed the remarks made during the meeting for the aim of developing a clear national strategy to deal with the phenomenon of climate change.
