SCH President to patronize conference on pharmaceutical vigilance, drug safety

Manama, Oct. 28 (BNA): The National Committee for Unified Procurement of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies will organize the first Pharmacovigilance and drug safety conference on October 29 and 30. The event will be held under the patronage of President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, with the participation of pharmacists, doctors and pharmaceutical specialists from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC countries. An elite of keynote speakers will also discuss developments related to pharmaceutical security and drug safety. The two-day conference will spotlight a number of issues pertaining to the pharmaceutical field, including drug procurement in the GCC countries and challenges related to COVID-19 vaccination of citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. A permanent electronic platform will also be inaugurated at the conference to enable participants to discuss issues and remain updated on pharmaceutical vigilance and drug safety.
