SCW Secretary General meets WPL President

Brussels, Sept. 7 (BNA): Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Hala Al Ansari held a work meeting with President of the Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL) Silvana Koch-Mehrin. She lauded the role of the forum in promoting the Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women Empowerment which was launched internationally after success of the experience at the local level for more than 10 years as part of Bahrain’s initiatives to achieve the sustainable development goals related to balance between the two genders. Al Ansari praised the role of WPL through various programmes to ensure progress of women in taking up leading political posts all over the world by highlighting experiences in achieving justice and gender balance. On her part, the WPL President reviewed the forum’s main projects for the next period, expressing keenness on more participation of Bahrain given the outstanding presence of Bahraini women in decision-making and parliamentary work.
