SCW Secretary General receives Bahraini Ambassador to Belgium

Manama, Oct. 12 (BNA): Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al Ansari, commended the pivotal role played by the Bahraini diplomatic missions in highlighting the achievements of Bahraini women at the international level. She stressed the national efforts to achieve gender balance and integrate women’s needs in the development process. Al Ansari was speaking as she received at the SCW headquarters, in Riffa, Head of the Bahraini diplomatic mission to Belgium, Ambassador Abdullah bin Faisal Jabr Al Dousari. She discussed with him the SCW’s activities to build fruitful relations with the international organisations concerned with women’s issues. She also affirmed the role of the diplomatic missions in encouraging concerned sectors to apply for HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment. The second edition of the award was launched by the UN Women to recognize the work of governments, the private sector, civil society organizations and individuals towards empowering women and girls worldwide. Ambassador Al Dousari praised the efforts of SCW, under the presidency of HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King, in advancing Bahraini women at the local, regional and international level. He also lauded the contribution of the Bahraini women to promoting the kingdom’s status as a model in human development and gender equality thanks to the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
