SCW Secretary General receives IPU Secretary General

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), Hala Al Ansari, received at the council’s premises in Riffa Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Martin Chungong. They discussed cooperation in the field of women advancement around the world, including political participation through membership in the parliament. Al Ansari presented a briefing on the latest plans and programmes of SCW, under the directives and follow-up of its President Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King. The IPU Secretary General expressed appreciation of the advancement of Bahraini women, praising the kingdom’s national empowerment plan.
