SCW Secretary-General receives Italian officials

Manama, Nov.17 (BNA): Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Secretary General Hala Al Ansari today received Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Marina Serini and Minister Plenipotentiary Giuseppe Cavagna Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Paula Amadi has also attended the meeting which was held at the SCW headquarters in Riffa. They discussed strong bilateral relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Italy, noting both countries’ strides in empowering women/ Serini commended the SCW-led efforts to promote the status of women, expressing keenness on further bolstering joint cooperation between the two countries. The two sides have also discussed the impact of the novel of coronavirus (COVID-19), noting the role of women among frontliners combating the pandemic. The meeting also focused on the efforts exerted by the Italian nation institutions in cooperation with the private sector and the civil society to activate the uN Security Council Resolution 1325 of 2000 on women, peace and security.
