SCW's continuous economic empowerment plans stressed

Manama, Mar. 25 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), has stressed the council’s keenness to go ahead with the women’s empowerment programmes, mainly in the economic field, to achieve family stability and improve people’s welfare. HRH Princess Sabeeka was speaking as she honoured at SCW headquarters, in Riffa, today winners of the third edition of the Bahraini Female Entrepreneur Honour Seal. She underlined SCW’s keenness to work within the national system framework to tap on Bahraini women’s potentials and boost their capabilities to launch sustainable enterprises capable of creating job opportunities and catering to the local market. She also praised contribution of the Bahraini female entrepreneurs to the national economy and their capability to launch pioneering, innovative and sustainable projects. HRH Princess Sabeeka asserted that launching the award stems from a belief in the need to support and motivate young Bahraini females in entrepreneurship and honour their contribution to creating a supporting economic environment. She lauded all the national efforts in supporting the initiative, pointing out the quality programmes carried out by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to promote women’s participation in the labour market. She also thanked the award’s jury headed by SCW member Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa. HRH Princess Sabeeka presented the award to Nahla Mahmood Al Mahmood, Amina Abdul Jabbar Al-Abbasi, Ema Ismail Al Mansouri and Maisam Hassan Al Nasser. Tamkeen announced, in cooperation with SCW, the launch of “Tamkeen” programme to support women’s participation in the labour market. The announcement was made at a joint press conference at SCW headquarters, in Riffa, in the presence of SCW Secretary General Hala Al Ansari and Tamkeen Chief Executive Dr. Ibrahim Janahi.
