SEA President delivers Bahrain's speech at UN High-Level Dialogue on Energy

Manama, Sept. 25 (BNA): On the sidelines of the 76th UN General Assembly’s meeting, President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, delivered remotely the kingdom’s speech at the UN High-level Dialogue on Energy. Leaders of countries, Prime Ministers and ministers from around the world took part in the top profile dialogue. The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, called in his inaugural speech on the countries’ leaders to increase investments in renewable energy three times and energy competence five times to reduce carbon emissions which are harmful to the environment and people’s health. Dr. Mirza conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his best wishes of every success to the session. He stressed the kingdom’s keenness on boosting its international role to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and honor its regional and international obligations pertaining mainly to the energy field. Dr. Mirza highlighted Bahrain’s strides in attaining the national goals in the energy field. He also reviewed the latest developments in renewable energy and energy competence, pointing out cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
