SEA President participates in vEEC

Manama, Oct. 1 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza participated in the main session of the Virtual Energy Exports Conference (vEEC) which is organised by the British embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the Energy Industries Council (EIC). An elite of businessmen from both countries and chiefs of major companies took part in the event as an embodiment of growing relations between both countries. Dr. Mirza expressed thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahraini government for the unlimited support given to SEA to develop the sustainable energy sector in Bahrain and boost in the kingdom’s regional and international status in this regard. He also pointed out taking advantage of solid relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and neighbouring countries, notably the GCC ones, and benefiting from the kingdom’s strategic location as a gateway to the GCC market. Dr. Mirza highlighted through a visual presentation during the discussion session the national plan for renewable energy and its performance, main achievements in the sustainable energy sector and global movements in the energy field. He also pointed out the need to avail of strong historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UK to achieve the main development goals. The SEA President stressed the possibility of exchanging experiences in wind energy projects on land, in coastal areas and in deep waters, in addition to floating solar energy projects, as the United Kingdom has large and successful experiences to be emulated regionally and globally in these two fields. At the end of the visual presentation, he answered a number of questions raised by the participants in the conference which showed remarkable interest in exchanging expertise and investments. Dr. Mirza hailed the outcome of the conference, expressing keenness on further cooperation with the British embassy in Bahrain to explore investment opportunities and exchange experiences. He also praised the efforts made by the embassy and EIC to organise the event.
