SEA President receives UN Resident Coordinator

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA), Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza received in his office the UN Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Stefano Pettinato. They reviewed SEA’s plans and projects for 2021 and the achievements to be made by the authority this year. Dr. Mirza stressed the authority’s unrelenting steps, thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to turn Bahrain into a distinguished hub in renewable energy and boost its standing on the world map in terms of the great efforts being made to achieve the comprehensive sustainable development goals. For his part, the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative said SEA is a real reflection of the national policies and international trends concerning the sustainable development goals (SDGs), including mainly the 7th goal on guaranteeing access of all to cost-effective modern, trusted and sustainable energy services by 2030. He thanked Dr. Mirza and the taskforce for their tireless endeavor to bring about achievements and upgrade the sustainable energy sector in Bahrain.
