SEA president visits renewable energy projects

Manama, July 27 (BNA): President of the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) Dr. Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, conducted a site visit this morning to a number of facilities where renewable energy projects are currently being implemented. The purpose of the site visit was to follow-up on the progress achieved to date. Dr. Mirza was accompanied on this visit by a number of SEA officials, representatives of consulting firms, and the contractors implementing each of the projects. During the visits, the representatives from both local and international companies, explained the developments and progress of the renewable energy projects, stressing cooperation regarding technical support and facilitation of procedures to overcome obstacles that may hinder the implementation of these projects. Dr. Mirza stated that the Government of Bahrain represented by the Sustainable Energy Authority and all relevant government authorities stand ready to support all projects that will contribute to achieving the national energy targets approved by the Cabinet, which are to introduce 5% of renewable energy into the total energy mix by the year 2025, and a target of 6% improvement in energy efficiency by 2025. He said that these targets and plans serve to reach the larger goal of the 2030 Economic Vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Dr. Mirza pointed out the work of authority is in line with the directives of the wise leadership’s vision for a more sustainable future of clean energy.
