Searching of dead builders of bridge is continued

September, September 15, 2009 (Khabar) - Search of three missing builders of collapsed bridge is continued in Atyrau since September 11, they fell into Ural river as a result of span collapsing. Eight people were missing after the middle span of the bridge collapsed and five bodies were found on Saturday. The rescuers suppose the bodies of three builders can lie between the collapsed span and river bed. It was decided to cut the span that weighs 980 tons. The state commission in investigating of tragedy reasons decided to invite bridge builders from Russia. The department of interior affairs of Atyrau region began a criminal case according to the article “Violation of rules of mountainous or construction works entailing death or other grave consequences because of carelessness”.

Gabiden Kaimsultanov, director general of “Transstroimost” JSC:
- The bodies of five dead builders had already been taken to their native regions – Almaty and Kyzylorda regions. We allocated 100 000 tenge for funeral of all died workers and we will render financial aid to families that lost their relative. If died workers had children, they will receive allowances until turning 21 years old.
