Second Turkey-GCC Business and Investment Forum opened
Manama, Nov. 1 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, today delegated Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa to open the second Turkey-GCC Business and Investment Forum, currently hosted by the kingdom.
The two-day event is co-organised by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Federation of Chambers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (FGCCC), with the participation of about 600 Bahrain, GCC and Turkish investors.
Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa conveyed greetings from HRH the Prime Minister to the event organisers and participants, and his wishes of success to the forum in achieving its goal of consolidating cooperation between the GCC and Turkey in all investment and trade fields, and building partnerships that boost bilateral investment.
The deputy premier expressed delight at the kingdom's hosting of the key forum which, he said, is expected to achieve more rapprochement between GCC businessmen and economic institutions and their Turkish counterparts, as well as contribute to opening up new horizons of joint bilateral cooperation.
He asserted that the GCC-Turkish relations are progressing in various fields, which, he said, reflects he depth of relations between the GCC and Turkish leaders, praising brotherly Turkey's political weight and pivotal economic role in the region.
The deputy premier lauded Turkey's outstanding successful economic growth experience which is based on developed policies and qualified expertise, calling for the need to exchange expertise and avail of the success factors on which Turkey relied at the level of comprehensive development.
He expressed hope that the forum will reach agreements and cooperation formulas that embody the depth of GCC-Turkish relations, stressing that the two sides boast promising investment opportunities.
He underlined Bahrain's keenness on supporting every effort aimed at broadening cooperation between brotherly Turkey and other countries of the world, in line with belief in the importance of openness to the world and building economic partnerships that benefit all.
The deputy premier called on investors from both sides to take advantage of the forum to remove potential obstacles that may impede the strengthening of a GCC-Turkish model of cooperation.
