Secretary-General of Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions Meets Chairman of Mauritanian National Human Rights Commission

Doha, March 28 (QNA) - HE Secretary-General of the Doha-based Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali met with HE Chairman of the Mauritanian National Human Rights Commission Dr. Ahmed Salem Bouhoubeyni and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the organization of the 19th General Assembly meeting in Mauritania, according to which the presidency of the next session of the Arab Network will be transferred to Mauritania represented by the Mauritanian National Human Rights Commission.
The meeting also dealt with choosing the theme of the conference that will be held on the sidelines of the 19th General Assembly, as well as the partners and stakeholders who will take part in the conference.
During the meeting, HE Chairman of the Mauritanian National Human Rights Commission was provided with a copy of the statute, rules of procedure, strategy and operational plan of the Arab Network.
HE the Secretary-General of the Arab Network was briefed on the challenges and needs facing the Mauritanian National Human Rights Commission, and affirmed his full support for the Commission.
He noted that the Network will hold a three-day training course after the General Assembly for members of the Commission's board of directors and its employees with the aim of raising their capabilities in the areas of protection and promotion of human rights.
HE Al Jamali gave the delegation an explanation of the most important steps that must be taken during the process of re-accreditation of the Mauritanian National Human Rights Commission by the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, stressing the support of the General Secretariat of the Arab Network for the Mauritanian member to pass the re-accreditation process.
For his part, HE Dr. Bouhoubeyni praised the pioneering role of the Arab Network in supporting member national institutions at all levels, and its continuous endeavor to overcome all the challenges in order to achieve active Arab national institutions in their societies and in the regional and international environment, and to advance the process of protecting and promoting human rights.
