Secretary of State called “Kazakh Yeli” monument unveiling a historical event.
Astana, October 20, 2009 (Khabar) - Speaking at a meeting, which involved heads of executive bodies and representatives of the Assembly of Kazakhstan’s people, which happened in the Ak Orda, the secretary of state and the Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev said that the unveiling of the Kazakh Eli monument in Astana has become a historical event.
The secretary of state said that Kazakhstan has become the first former Soviet republic, which was able to receive such important post as the chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010 mostly because of the unique model of international and interfaith accord. He also noted that the language policy of the country brings respect from colleagues. The government created favorable conditions for the development of the Kazakh language. The country has 64 educational centers, where people can learn the Kazakh language and by 2011 this number will reach 120. Kazakhstan is witnessing the opening of Kazakh nursery and secondary schools. The financing of the state language policy is increasing. Kanat Saudabayev noted that the area of use of the Kazakh language is widening, however, developing the Kazakh language, the government should take care of the development of every national culture of Kazakhstan. In this connection, the state secretary asked the National Defense Committee, General Prosecutor’s Office and Ministry of Culture and Information to monitor the implementation of the Constitution and the law on languages. Kanat Saudabayev said that the Russian language remains its strong positions in all spheres of life. Along with the Russian language, the government supports other nationalities of Kazakhstan. The wise, checked and delicate policy of Nursultan Nazarbayev has become the defining factor of the harmonious development of the country.

- Today, standing at the Kazakh Eli square, I would like to note that every one of us felt the sincerity and fairness of such treatment to Nursultan Nazarbayev, who made a dream come true. Today everyone knows such symbols as the Statue of Liberty in the USA, the Eiffel Tower in France, the Alexander Column in Russia. I believe that the Kazakh Eli will become the majestic monument of formation of the independent Kazakhstan.
