Shaikh Nasser patronises Harbour Row Charity Marathon

Manama, Apr. 8 (BNA): Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, the Harbour Row Charity Marathon has successfully concluded. Organised by GFH Real Estate in collaboration with the Royal Charity Organisation and Bahrain Road Runners, the event's registration proceeds will go to the Royal Charity Organisation in support of its Bakery Project which is being established to provide employment and economic opportunities to local widows. Praising the initiative, HH Shaikh Nasser lauded the role of sports in supporting noble gestures. "The Harbour Row Charity Marathon reflects the important role of sports in bringing humanitarian and social values alive. Sports today aren't limited to competition and achieving titles, but go beyond that in their content and values, becoming an important tool in serving charity efforts," HH Shaikh Nasser said. "The tangible keenness of Bahraini citizens and residents to participate in such activities and events reflects the social awareness level of the importance of sports in maintaining the safety and health of human beings, and their role in promoting and spreading happiness and self-satisfaction," HH added. HH Shaikh Nasser praised the efforts of GFH Real Estate in promoting human values by hosting such events and activities that reflect the firm's role in maintaining the principle of social responsibility. Shaikh Nasser also applauded the efforts of all those involved in organising the event. It's worth noting that more than 200 people from different age groups participated in the activity amid an atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy.
