Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa: Bahraini women are vital component of Kingdom’s national development

Manama, Dec. 1 (BNA): The Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister (OFDPM) today hosted a gathering to mark Women’s Day and pay tribute to the female employees of the office. The Director General of the OFDPM, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, said the celebration of Women’s Day highlights the leadership’s recognition of the role women play in the country’s development, which is in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s programme of development. In this regard, Shaikh Salman noted His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s commitment to supporting and empowering Bahraini women. He praised the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women, headed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King, in supporting and empowering women through the provision of various initiatives and programmes. During the event, the female OFDPM employees expressed gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the OFDPM senior management for their continuous support to the role of women in Bahraini society.
