Shura Chairman, Ethiopia's Consul General discuss relations

Manama, Sept. 8 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh received Jamal Bakr Abdullah, Ethiopia's Consul General in Bahrain, and reviewed with him relations between the two countries and peoples in various fields. Al Saleh stressed Bahrain's keenness on enhancing cooperation with all countries in a manner that meets common interests and secures benefits for all. He also emphasized Bahrain's support for the legitimate rights of Egypt and Sudan to the waters of the Nile River as well as for their efforts to protect the water security of the two countries. Al Saleh pointed out the need for the international community to intensify its efforts to reach a just settlement of the issue in accordance with the international law and through direct dialogue between the three countries to achieve their common interests and contribute to maintaining peace, security and stability in East Africa. Bahrain is keen to develop economic relations, boost investments and increase the volume of trade exchange with Ethiopia based on the promising opportunities and expertise and to establish partnerships in several sectors, especially food security. The Consul lauded Bahrain's efforts to widen cooperation and joint coordination between the two countries and wished further security, stability and prosperity for the Kingdom under the leadership of HM the King.
