Shura Chairman lauds royal pardon

Manama, May 22 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has affirmed that the royal decrees issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa pardoning and releasing a number of inmates and convicts who have served part of their sentences reflect the humanitarian approach founded by His Majesty since the launch of the major reform project, thus promoting the human rights record of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Shura Council Chairman lauded the royal decree issued by HM the King today, pardoning and releasing 154 convicts after serving part of their jail terms. He stressed the positive impact of the generous royal humanitarian gesture on the families of the pardoned inmates, especially with the advent of Eid Al Fitr, as it brings happiness and joy to them.
The Shura Council Chairman paid tribute to His Majesty the King for his keenness on engaging all Bahraini people in building the society and ensuring its development. He stressed that the royal decrees pardoning the inmates add to the kingdom’s human rights and humanitarian record and represent a continuation of the royal approach of forgiveness to re-integrate the pardoned inmates into the society and enable them to participate in the kingdom’s development march.
