Shura Chairman participates in Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament

Manama, Sept. 8 (BNA): Shura Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh expressed his pride in Bahrain’s leading position internationally in providing health services, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to confront the coronavirus pandemic in a manner that ensures security and stability of citizens and residents in the Kingdom. Al Saleh who was participating in the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament held by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Vienna, lauded the efforts of The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The chairman pointed out that the Kingdom supports all the efforts related to combating terrorism by consolidating coexistence at all levels, hoping that the conference’s recommendations will contribute to prompting the international community to become a culture of cooperation, coexistence and the rejection of hate speech. He called for discussing a new global pact for gender equality, indicating Bahraini women’s status as a result of the national strategic vision and HM King’s comprehensive development program which is the foundation for empowering women in various fields, obtaining their rights and contributing to modernizing Bahrain.
