Shura Chairman pays tribute to martyrs of duty

Manama, Dec. 17 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh paid homage to the martyrs of duty from Bahrain Defence Force, the Interior Ministry and the National Guard, describing them as timeless national beacons and well-established models in loyalty, patriotism and sacrifice. He stressed that the national day allocated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as a Commemoration Day expresses pride and appreciation of the martyrs of duty and their sacrifice in defending the nation and its achievements. Marking the Commemoration Day, which is observed on December 17, the Shura Council Chairman said the martyrs of duty gave lessons in loyalty and dedication to maintain security and stability in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the whole region. He added they also contributed to boosting the kingdom’s pioneering role in deterring terrorism and extremism which threaten countries’ growth and advancement. Al Saleh expressed utmost thanks and gratitude to HM the King for his noble initiative in designating a national day for the martyrs of duty as part of the kingdom’s National Days celebrations. He stressed continuous support to the military and security institutions and their efforts to protect the community. He pointed out that the Commemoration Day is an occasion to pay homage to the martyrs of duty and recall their heroics, adding that their names will remain carved in the national memory.
