Shura Chairman praises National Gender Balance Report outcomes

Manama, Oct. 25 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh praised the outcomes of the National Gender Balance Report (2019-2020) that confirmed Bahrain’s overall gender balance index for the years 2019-2020 increased to 69%, up from 65% during the period running from 2017 until 2018. He affirmed that these results reflect the sustainability of national initiatives and ambitious programs under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to consolidate Bahraini women high level achievements and their contributions in the national action. Shura chairman stressed the efforts made by the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to formulate activities and programs that support national strategies to achieve gender balance. Al Saleh praised the pivotal role of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), and her continuous support and follow-up to Bahraini women’s progress and national, regional and international achievements.
