Shura Chairman receives Bahraini Ambassador to USA

Manama, Apr. 21 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh praised the role played by the diplomatic missions in highlighting the development march in the Kingdom of Bahrain and boosting relations with brotherly and friendly countries. He lauded the Bahraini ambassadors’ role in spotlighting the kingdom’s achievements, particularly in the human rights field, religious freedom and coexistence in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Shura Council Chairman was speaking as he received today Bahraini Ambassador to the USA, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa. The meeting was attended by Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Second Deputy Chairman Jamila Ali Salman, and member Yusef bin Ahmed Al Ghatam, the Head of the Committee of Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security. Al Saleh commended the efforts of Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa to further enhance historical and strategic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the USA and boost bilateral cooperation in various fields. He praised the services provided by Bahrain’s embassy in the USA to the Bahraini community and members of the legislative branch during international parliamentary gatherings. Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in backing the official one, commending the role of the members of the legislative branch and their continuous communication with the US Congress. He thanked the Shura Council Chairman for the role played by the council in fostering diplomatic relations on the basis of mutual respect and protecting common interests.
