Shura Chairman receives Indian Ambassador

Manama, Oct. 21 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-SAleh, has stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and India in order to achieve their common goals and aspirations. He also stressed the need to develop parliamentary relations through exchanging visits and expertise, as well as strengthening coordination on various issues at international gatherings between the two friendly countries in various fields. The Shura Chairman made the statements while receiving here today the newly-appointed Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Piyush Srivastava, with whom he reviewed the democratic process witnessed by the kingdom during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the first supporter of legislative work in the kingdom. Al-Saleh stressed the importance of strengthening the kingdom’s parliamentary relations with brotherly and friendly countries. In this regard, he lauded the deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and India and their peoples, hailing the advanced level reached by bilateral ties at the diplomatic, economic and social levels. He wished the ambassador every success in carrying out his diplomatic duties. Ambassador Piyush Srivastava praised the interest and care enjoyed by the Indian expatriate community in Bahrain, expressing his keenness to bolster parliamentary relations through the exchange of visits and expertise in a way that would achieve the two countries’ aspirations.
