Shura conference's outcomes to support development process

Manama, July 1 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, described the “Together to Achieve Legislative Aspirations” conference, to be organised by the Shura Council on July 3-4, under his patronage, as a comprehensive national dialogue involving all social segments. It reflects the Shura Council’s commitment to assuming its national responsibilities in coming up with visions and ideas on ways to achieve more progress to the nation, and consolidate the national legislative system, being the basic pillar of the landmark successes achieved by the kingdom under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project. Al-Saleh added that the conference is held 17 years after the launch of the bicameral National Assembly, which, he said, requires opening up new horizons of partnership and cooperation with various social segments to lay the foundations for ways to deal with legislation and laws according the progress witnessed by the kingdom in various fields. He asserted that the Legislature has contributed to developing and drafting a package of legislation and laws over the past legislative terms, based on a democratic approach that gives priority to top national interests. Al-Saleh affirmed that attracting keynote speakers from Bahrain and abroad and holding key wokshops reflect the Shura Council’s keenness to ensure that the conference’s outcomes would achieve its preset goals.
